Although Eric is blind, he 'sees' a space by literally feeling his way through from room to room. Los Angeles Designer, Peter Dunham experienced this first hand when he accompanied Eric on a celebrity, show-house tour.

According to Peter, "First, Eric walked around, feeling, getting a sense of the room. Then, he asked me to describe the room as he continued with his walk through, touching and sensing the space. He perceives the height and size of room using sound and its echo and his body as a measuring device." Peter went on to explain that much to his surprise, Eric identified such items as furnishings and fixtures down to the manufacturer and even the model number in some cases. "Eric detects the most extraordinary details of room elements, things a sighted person would miss. He notices things I would not even notice in my own work. Eric is amazing."

Working with Eric was one of the most enjoyable experiences I had during the move into my new home. I knew the task would be a challenge, to say the least. I had a small back yard that was nothing more than dirt, surrounded an awful cinder-block wall. The front of the property was not landscaped either, in fact, the whole neighborhood was new. Eric set about without hesitation, much more positively than I, designing a plan. He walked around the house, measuring with his arms, extending them out to his sides. He stretched out his hands to feel the sunlight, almost as if he was deciding where to place it and how he would play with it. "I want to feel where the air is flowing." He said on another day. My son, then 10 yrs. old, was fascinated. He followed Eric around with a thousand questions and suggestions but Eric didn't mind at all. Some days Eric seemed like a scientist at work, other times an artist, creating a beautiful environment for my son and I. Each step of the way, I felt included. Every plant, every stone, every color reflected not only what I loved but who I am. Eric spent so much time with us, wanting it all to be perfect and perfectly welcoming for my guests.

In no time at all, I had a pool, a waterfall, a tree-lined driveway and my house was a showcase. What I loved the most was that it fit...me. Eric wanted the house to reflect my sense and sensibility. My home no longer looks like a 'cookie-cutter' home. My back yard looks four times the size it was before! Eric made it all so easy. Eric made it all so beautiful. Eric made it all my home.

Thank you Eric B.

"Eric did a fantastic job turning our dated mid-century home into a beautiful, warm place that is a joy to live in. He took full advantage of the existing modernist bones, maintained its architectural integrity, and created a wonderful space for entertaining and day-to-day enjoyment"

Eric did a phenomenal job restoring the integrity of my Hollywood bungalow, while re-working the layout to better fit a more modern lifestyle. I gave Eric an additional challenge in that I work from home, so I needed my house to be efficient enough that I can focus during the day, while still feeling like a personal retreat in the evening. Eric exceeded this goal. I had only previously seen Eric's more modern and Asian-inspired projects, so I was incredibly impressed with his vision for this more traditional home. Its original Spanish design had been buried over the decades under several spotty renovations. Eric brought out the character and warmth of my home by thickening walls, creating new archways, and adding interesting architectural details all typical of the Spanish style. Modern fixtures and appliances were perfectly blended in to meet today's needs. New windows and skylights also brought much needed light to these typically dark homes. My favorite part is definitely a beautiful master suite that he crafted out of a dark hallway, guest bath and ill-fitting bedroom addition. What once felt dark and cramped is now open and bright and characteristic of a style I've always enjoyed. I am very grateful.
